Social program

Get-together dinner, Sat May 16th To celebrate our first night together, we will enjoy a dinner in the Gustavelund garden. Don't worry about the Finnish weather, heaters are already reserved to keep us warm.

Visit to Ainola, Sun May 17th Tuusulanjärvi region is well-known for its artist community in the beginning of the 21st century. We will take a guided tour the house of Jean Sibelius, Ainola, where this Finnish composer lived for over five decades. After the visit, we will continue with a dinner in Gustavelund accompanied with live music of Sibelius performed by Jukka Nykänen.

Outdoor activities, Mon May 18th We will endorse the beautiful Lake Tuusulanjärvi by making a rowing trip with a traditional Finnish boat. Sauna and indoor swimming facilities will also be available throughout the evening.

Trip to Suomenlinna, Tue May 19th We will take a bus to the Market Square in Helsinki, from where we travel by ferry to the Suomenlinna fortress island. After a guided tour on the island, we'll enjoy a dinner in one of the old fortress buildings, with some live music of Bellman performed by Ossi Kallioinen and Pentti Hilden.

Barbecue by the lake, Wed May 20th We will finish the conference with a final night of barbecue and sauna by the lake.
